The Sr. Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the commercial optimization for one of Company’s power generation facilities located in the Northeast.  The position will be seconded to a 3rd party Asset Manager to ensure safe, reliable, and effective asset optimization results.  This role will conduct asset performance analysis, support budgeting, contract review, and provide various other day-to-day support tasks for the Company's Commercial Team.  This role will mainly work without direct supervision, but closely with a 3rd party vendor to complete the above specified tasks.

  • Perform services in a businesslike manner and comply with applicable laws, rules, regulation, policies and other practices established by 3rd party Company and/or Asset Manager.
  • Single point of contact with 3rd party Asset Manager to provide Company’s Commercial Team with market and operations information as required.
  • Provide comprehensive analysis of North American Wholesale Nodal Power Markets including, but not limited to, PJM and NYISO to support maximizing portfolio optimization.
  • Collect, analyze, and present commercial and operational data to management, monthly, quarterly, or as needed.
  • Daily monitor and report on power plant activity.
  • Provide clear market analysis to assist in decision making for daily bidding and/or hedge strategies for both Energy and Capacity Markets.
  • Represent Company's Commercial Team at project team meetings to effectively communicate market/project analysis.
  • Review contracts to provide proper supervision of the contract obligations.
  • Assist in building models, tools, process and infrastructure that supports the organization's accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop and grow internal/external stakeholder relationships while continually seeking opportunities to improve processes.
  • Perform other various ad hoc tasks as required

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Required Education and Experience
  • Combination of experience and education is acceptable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.  (Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or other quantitative field with business or finance experience is also suitable)
  • Five years of energy experience in real time dispatch and/or power plant asset management.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO rule and regulations.
  • Adaptability to changing work environments. 
Preferred Education and Experience
  • MBA
  • PJM and/or NERC certified
