Job Description
PROCESS ENGINEER
Rawlins, WY
Salary Range: Salary Commensurate with Experience
Critical Tasks:
1. Evaluate and monitor the performance of refinery units, provide troubleshooting and optimization assistance for Operations including unit test runs, pressure and temperature surveys and laboratory yield analysis. Work with existing or create new computer simulations for unit design modification, existing equipment evaluation, and optimization. Current simulation software is Aspen HYSYS and PRO II.
2. Recommend, evaluate, and design profitability and
energy
savings projects including equipment specification, heat and material balances, and P&ID modification or creation.
3. Field work in the refinery involving operator training, operating manual input, MOC development, HAZOP reviews and recommendation follow-up, P&ID review and verification will be required.
4. Work with the Project Engineering group on equipment, catalyst, and contractor selection for new projects and unit turnarounds. Be available for round the clock shift coverage as needed during unit turnarounds, startups, and major unit upsets or emergencies. Turnaround work may involve vessel and other equipment entry for inspection and repair recommendations.
5. Interface and provide process support for the new expansion projects including existing utility operation information, integration with existing units, and attending P&ID and 3D model reviews which may require out of town travel.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
5 to 10 years refining experience preferably in tech service or operations.
Process Safety Management and process simulation experience
Excellent communication skills
Self motivated team player willing to take on any assignment
