Description
Title: Project Business Development Manager
Location: Prefer Portland Oregon or Camarillo California. Other locations can be considered if applicant has a history of selling 55MW+ deals.
Salary:$140K to $200K total
Essential Experience Required: Sales of commercial solar power units to major corporate clients such as Johnson Controls and Chevron or other projects in the $30M to $200M+ range. A typical big deal would be a 30MW for $230-250M

The Position
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will be part of the core team responsible for evaluating and managing new strategic business opportunities, alliances and/or joint ventures. You will be responsible for overseeing market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identifying customer needs.
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
* Develop business strategies; define scope of work and identify potential power project customers.
* Work with and network among utility community to identify and generate potential power project leads.
* Work closely with internal departments: Project Engineering, Finance, Logistics, and Marketing to design, develop and implement approved project business plans to achieve Our client project and revenue targets.
* Develop sales presentation materials and project proposals that include marketing, technical and financial information to close project sales.
* Estimate demand for proposed projects based on market research and consumer trends.
* Provides support to upper management in project negotiations, contract development, and other business development projects.
* Analyze market data to indentify trends/opportunities, develop strategic direction from marketing information and creates compelling market presentations.
* Provide post-sales support as necessary.

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
* BS degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration (or equivalent work experience), plus a minimum of 5-7 years in commercial or utility scale
energy
projects experience required.
* Demonstrated ability to work proactively to identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
* Excellent analytical ability and strong communication skills, with the ability to create and present compelling project proposals.
* Sound understanding of technical and financial aspects of large commercial projecting involving capital equipment.
* Recent experience and understanding of structured project financing.
* Experience preparing ad hoc reports and presentations as needed.
* Desire to join a highly entrepreneurial, fast moving, rapidly changing, cohesive team of peers working within a start-up environment.
